BlockchainNZ Member Profile: Centrality

Centrality is a blockchain venture studio that partners with innovators in key industries to create a decentralised peer-to-peer marketplace of applications. With a team “UNthinking the digital landscape,” Centrality is equipped to support its customers around the globe in the transition to a blockchain-enabled future worldwide, starting with self-sovereign digital identity.

Centrality provides developers, startups and small businesses with the resources they need to create consumer-focused decentralised applications in its ecosystem, so they don’t need to build these from scratch. Centrality has a growing portfolio with over twenty applications, each working and generating value independently, as well as enabling growth for one another.

Last year was a big year for Centrality, with CEO Aaron McDonald being named the winner of the Technology and Emerging Industries’ category for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Also in 2018, Centrality teamed up with Callaghan Innovation to commission the Distributed Ledgers and Blockchains Report to provide New Zealand businesses and innovators useful insights on the significant opportunities that exist for this emerging technology.

This year, the focus is on taking its technology, through the Centrality Developer Portal, to the global market, starting in New Zealand, followed by South East Asia. The team is working hard to launch its mainnet by the end of the year.

BlockchainNZ BlockchainNZ is an association of organisations and individuals that represent this rapidly emerging business sector and those engaged in the wider global Financial Services, IT, and public sector communities.
