Artist talk and experience with AR.tist Kat Iosia – Augmented Reality Artist and Developer
Katrina Iosia is quickly emerging as a dynamic and leading female AR artist / developer in Aotearoa. As a Pasifika woman in Art and Tech, she has a background in visual arts and design and has traversed seamlessly into Mixed Reality art. She has exhibited on curated digital platforms like ‘Digital Art Month’ in Paris (2021) and this year was a featured artist in the 2022 Vancouver Winter Arts Fest https://www.winterartsfest.com/artists. She was recognised by Lenslist as one of ‘8 Snapchat Lens Creators You Should Know’. She is now a seasoned NFT creator as well as New Zealands only official SNAPCHAT Lens creator and ambassador for AR Spectacles.com https://www.spectacles.com/uk/creators/
Katrina returns to the community of Otara; where her father grew up in, to present a public artist talk on Saturday 21st May, 11am-12pm.
Come and experience her AR work as she shares her journey at the SOUTH-VERSED art exhibition at Fresh Gallery in Otara, South Auckland.
Katrina Iosia is part of a group exhibition alongside seven other Contemporary Pacific artists: Tony Buford, Mose Eteuati, Jesse Gibson, Iokapeta Magele-Suamasi, ‘Ahota’eiloa Toetu’u, Faleata Ualesi, Uelese Vavae. SOUTH-VERSED is open until the 28th May, 2022.
