Guest Speaker and Panel Discussion hosted by the Blockchain Association with PwC
The pseudo-anonymous nature of cryptocurrencies and other blockchain-based digital assets pose unique challenges and opportunities to financial services and regulators.
The blockchain is a distributed ledger that provides an incorruptible record of information. Innovators have discovered that the information stored on a blockchain can go far beyond that of monetary and financial asset records. Immutable tokens can be created on the blockchain to represent objects such as identities, paving the way for decentralised social media and identity management networks.
A global immutable ledger provides a path for businesses to comply with regulatory requirements at a fraction of the cost by removing the redundancies in identity verification.
The event will begin with a presentation from one of the few experts working on putting identities on the blockchain. Following the presentation there will be a panel discussion featuring three professionals with different perspectives on the practical use of blockchain technology in New Zealand. There will be plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion and a chance to catch up with others interested in this area.
Whether you’re new to the blockchain and want to learn more or are a seasoned expert, you should all get something out of this presentation.
