Before and Beyond Blockchain: A Brief History of the Next Dot Com Boom
Podcaster and technology commentator Arthur Falls will introduce the history and future of blockchain technology. Behind the Crypto Wars of the early ’90s, the dot com boom, and the groundbreaking bitcoin whitepaper, a long lineage of mathematicians and computer scientists worked to create a new world. With the resurgence of applied cryptography in the form of blockchains and distributed ledgers, these technological pioneers are closer than ever to rendering the old one obsolete.
Arthur is a blockchain technology expert, journalist, and content marketing specialist with a background in media production. He has produced several popular blockchain-centric podcasts, most notably Beyond Bitcoin and The Ether Review. He is the Director of Media at Consensus Systems, the world’s largest blockchain venture production studio, and leads the company’s in-house media outlet. Arthur’s itinerant employment in the New Zealand orchard industry, Australian wine industry, and Maine lobster fishery, sparked his interest in economics and international finance. This he has pursued since 2013 through independent journalism. In early 2016 Arthur shuttered his tree surgery business and left the Maine lobster industry to join ConsenSys, focusing on blockchain and media production full time.
